6th Week Layout

Today I am here to share a layout of my Nathan's sixth week.  Even though this is a clean and simple layout, I actually used six different items from the Creative Embellishments store in this layout. The stars of the layout (pun intended) are the Stars "3x4" Card and the Stars wood veneer embellishments. I painted the stars card with white gesso and then added some grey ink on top. I left the wood veneer stars as is.

I framed this darling picture with the Large Nested Rectangles, added one of the words from the Baby Time Word Set, and inked both of them in light blue ink.

I also framed this journaling card with the Large Nested Rectangles, and added my title piece that I created from the Basic Alphabet and Grades or Awards sets.

The Park Above

This morning we had a ton of fun going to a new-to-us park and splash pad!  I am posting this picture of our happy boy because he was not-so-happy when going down for his nap today (I think he was overtired).

This park had all kinds of cool things, like musical instruments,

and play equipment (they also had "construction equipment" in a sandbox area, which Nathan loved but we didn't get a picture of it).

His favorite, of course, was the splash pad!

Family Layout

Hello everyone! I am thrilled to be on the Creative Embellishments design team. One of the very first Creative Embellishments chipboard pieces that caught my eye was the Family Word Border Set. I used the "family" word as my title and focus of this layout of my son meeting his grandparents. I also used Hearts chipboard accents, which were the perfect addition to my embellishment clusters.

I altered these chipboard pieces by putting a light coat of white paint on the chipboard, and then following that up with numerous coats of grey ink, which resulted in a distressed look.

East Coast Trip Part II

When we visited my mom in Connecticut, she took Nathan to see dinosaurs! He has been very excited about dinosaurs lately, and even knows the names of a half dozen types of them. He was particularly enthralled with this brachiosaurus.

They had a splash pad there too, and we couldn't pass up the opportunity to have some more water fun!

No trip to my mom's is complete without lobsters.  And this time Nathan even got a lobster hat!

We squeezed in a quick trip to the bay as well.

Nathan really enjoyed splashing, playing with oars, and riding in the motor boat.

And getting tossed around too!

Such a water baby.

East Coast Trip, Part I

We were able to make it to the East Coast for the Fourth of July again this year. Despite having his sleep suffer, per usual, Nathan traveled fairly well, and looked adorable doing it.

We had a lot of fun playing in Nicole's back yard, and Nathan enjoyed getting wet on a slip and slide,

and again in the sprinklers!

We enjoyed lots of family time

and giggles!

They took us to Lake Compounce, which we had never been to, and we had a blast at the water park and on the rides.

They had a lot of little kiddie play areas and Nathan just couldn't get enough of it.

He was also (barely) big enough to ride some of the amusement park rides all by himself -- such a big boy!

CE July Challenge

I am so excited to share my first Creative Embellishments' design team layout!  Their July challenge inspired me to scrap Nathan's first ever Fourth of July.  My stars and stripes elements come from the 4th of July chipboard piece.  I painted the chipboard with gesso and then used white perfect pearls to add a white shimmer finish to the piece.  I backed the piece with patterned paper to allow it to pop. I also used the Stars Frame and accompanying stars, and treated the chipboard the same way, although I used silver perfect pearls instead of white.
